About Forrest Yoga
When i moved to Madison, I tried yoga classes from many instructors before I happily found Aubree Saia’s Forrest yoga class. Aubree stood above the others with the individual attention and corrections she gives to each student, and with her consistent calm and even tone.
Her dedication to and knowledge of Forrest Yoga, makes it exciting to learn from her. I’ve liked how Forrest Yoga is a blend of strengthening and increasingly challenging one’s self, while being sensitive to not stress the body.
After I became pregnant, Aubree helped personalize the class for me, adapting asanas. She appreciates the changes pregnancy brings from her own experience of keeping up her practice while pregnant with her children.
I’ve gone to her classes for a year now, and she continues to use her creativity to deepen and evolve herinstruction.

Some words about Aubree Saia and Jewel in the Lotus Yoga
“In November of 2004 during a walk in the neighborhood, I saw that a new occupant had come in nearby and I took home a brochure from outside the door. Because I knew I had had many years of extremely slow recovery from severe Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I knew too well that when I exercised too much, I always went back into CFS symptoms afterwards one of the problems with this condition. I also knew on some deep level I was losing my dream of higher fitness.
Enter: Aubree Saia into my life
I admit, I was most skeptical of someone so young when I appeared for my first sesssion in Forrest Yoga and saw Aubree. I, also experienced tangible aliveness (not soreness) in all kinds of places throughout my body after one visit. Thus I signed up for a series of lessons.
What I discovered in Aubree, her work with me and the particular Yoga callled ‘Forrest’, was that I was being rescued from a sort of solitary despair that could ever gain lost ground in
my physical body. I had spent years in becoming certified in the Helen Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music (GIM) and had grown increasingly healthier from within and able to assist others.
I valued holistic ways of thinking, eating, and Being! Yet, I was surprised to find a perfect godsend, able to assist me further in ways I was not reaching myself. Aubree had the presence of someone who respected, accepted and understood what was most important in our time together. She provide an energizing ‘give and take’ with what she knew was useful and also counted in my presentation of pressing needs. As a teacher myself, I knew Aubree was a master in connecting with me. Had she been rigidly enforcing her agenda, I know I would have been out the door and missed all my timely and invaluable learnings, which grew in me because of her way, her skill, and herself a great example.
In her amazing ability to balance a constructive agenda with where I was ‘now’, I was won over to literally move more than I would have believed and never have anything but positive body reactions the next day. Slowly I began to use the breathing techniques in daily life situations and to remember that a certain exercise might help in a particular time of distress. Perhaps the most valuable to me was to break through some subtle energy of fear and aversion to exercising. I am now keeping a quite regular schedule of exercising. What I know is that Aubree has empathy, skill, knowledge and relevance to me. Deeper parts of myself are addressed, aided and advanced into more health and happiness. For most of us, inspiration for any serious study area depends on who is conveying it. Aubree has been and will continue to be an example of life-giving know-how not only in Forrest Yoga, but because her relationship to me on many levels is simply, uplifting and real. Aubree is and was a gift of grace. How very much I appreciate her and her work with me, forever.
