Vinyasa Yoga
Vinyasa is a style of yoga which synthesizes the heart of the tradition with the pulse of the present-day. The term vinyasa literally translates into “wise progression”, and through intelligent sequencing effectively utilizes a dynamic exploration of the various practices of posture, breath work, meditation, and relaxation to cultivate strength, clarity, and increase energy. Yin Vinyasa
This class reflects the true meaning of yoga-union. The union of Yin and Yang, Passive and Active, Stillness and Movement. Class begins with passive yin postures and invites the body to open freely on its own. Allowing YOU to quietly connect internally with yourself & your body temple. Once the connective tissues in between the muscles & the bones of the body are open & fluid, we move into a more active practice, with a new found sense of freedom. Lightly traveling through sun salutations and creative sequences with the rhythm of the breath. Open to all levels of experience.
Dharma Yoga
Dharma Yoga Shiva Namaskar Vinyasa is a challenging and physically absorbing vinyasa series created by beloved yogi master, Sri Dharma Mittra. It reintegrates the flow of prana through the spinal column and emanates deep into all areas of the physical, metabolic, intuitive, and bliss bodies. It promotes harmony within all these layers so a concentrated state of radiant health is achieved. Classes include asana, pranyama, and meditation. Dharma classes offer a playful space for students to challenge themselves as they dive deeper into their yoga practices.
Capoeira
Capoeira is a Brazilian Martial art and cultural expression. Created by African slaves in Brazil as a form of practical resistance, as well as a tool for building strong, organized communities.Capoeira is a unique martial art that combines kicks and dodges with acrobatics and dance like movements. Referred to as a game by capoeiristas (practionerrs of capoeira), Capoeira is a high-energy corporal dialogue between two players. This game is staged in the middle of a circle created by other people who are singing call and response songs, playing traditional Brazilian instruments, and clapping their hands.If you have never heard of or seen capoeira, or you are interested in trying it out, our classes are open and observers are welcome. If you have trained capoeira before please feel free to come by any of our classes. If you are NEW to capoeira we strongly recommend that you attend one of our introductory Beginner Series classes. Dance Contact Improv
This structured jam explores the world of contact improvisation, a dance form that asks the question “what happens when bodies in motion make contact with each other?”. Jam time includes an opening circle, facilitated warm-up, a guided experience exploring one of the basic concepts of contact improvisation (weight sharing, listening, leading/following, yielding/resisting, etc.), and open jam time.
